At 07.08.2004 PSD "Korab" has a tour hike in Kumanovo area with friends from local mountaineering club. Besides other activities it was visited the megalithic observatory "Kokino", it is on 4th place at rank-list (right click - Save target as) issued by NASA last month. The observatory was named "Kokino" by the nearest village, it is placed at comune "Staro Nagorichane", 32 km east from city Kumanovo. The observatory "Kokino" is placed at peak called "Tatichev kamen" at 1013 above sea level. Accordingly to the explorations by archeologist Jovica Stankovski who discovered "Kokino" 2,5 years ago, and Gjorgji Cenev from astrological club "Planetarium" from Skopje the observatory is more then 3800 years old.         The observatory defines the four main positions of the moon and three main positions of the sun during the year, the autumnal and vernal equinox and winter and summer solstice. One specially positioned marker shows that the observatory was also used to follow the movement of the star cluster "Pleiades". "Kokino" is devided at two main parts with diametar of about 100 meters set on scalable platforms. On higher platform is the central place with observation post. According to the archeologists in this area there are few more observatories like "Kokino".
