Mountain sport society "Korab" is founded at april 1997 as nongoverment, nonpolitical and nonprofitable organization of citizens.         Every 4 years are elections meetings for the management: President of "Korab" (now Ljubomir Kotevski) ljubo@korab.org.mk, he is also president of the executive board, Executive board, Supervision board with president (now Stojkovich Boban), secretary (now Sinadinovski Arso), treassury (now Sokolovski Slobodan who is also president of the Alpine-climbing section), hosts of the refuges Tortevski Slobodan and Sokolovski Slobodan.         PSD "Korab" during the year has about 200 regular members average and have most members from all clubs in the country. Our members are not only from Skopje, but also from other cities in Macedonia and from abroad, average age is 32 years. Membership and informations about the activities can be obtained at the regular meetings every Wednesday and through this website.         The club has two sections, alpine-climbing who is one of the most active in Macedonia and has climbed all the climbing routes in Macedonia, and rescue section that has intervenued several times when lifes and health of the citizens and mountaineers was in dangeour.         With more then 50 organized tours throughout the year PSD "Korab" is the most active club in Macedonia, the most important one is international climb at "Golem Korab" that we are organizing every september celebrating The Independence day 8th September, with help from the Ministry of internal affairs and Macedonian army.         Most significant successes of "Korab" are: Climb at "Uhuru peak" (5895m) from 3 of our members, 8 climbs at Mon Blan (4807m) from 39 of our members, Ararat (5165m) in Turkey twice from two of our members, third high-camp at Muztag-ata at Pamir from one of our members, Erciyes in Turkey (3951m) 4 times from 4 of our members, Musala - Bulgaria (2925m) more then 30 times with more then 200 members, Olimp (2917m) in Greece with more then 150 mountaineers, every significant mountain in Macedonia, lot of peaks in Serbia and Montenegro, also in Bulgaria.         The club is cooperating with many clubs form the country and abroad, in the past period most active one is with "Zeleznicar" from Belgrade. |
